Just finished the dreaded three-hour drive with my fish in a bucket with a bubbler. Jasper and Pearl look alright, but little Popeye isn’t doing so hot. He’s clinging to the bottom and his tail looks shredded at the end.

Help! Goldfish at the surface constantly!

Posted: 29 Sep 2019 08:43 PM PDT

Hello, I have 3 fancy goldfish in a 60 gallon tank and and the little one is at the surface a lot just breathing in air. He will go to the bottom to forage but ends up vertical and sometimes flipping. I have no reason to believe there is a lack of oxygen as the other two are doing fine and just continue foraging. Can someone tell me what is going on? I feed them peeled peas at least twice a week to prevent swim bladder issues. He is the only one doing this. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you

I finished quarantining my goldfish and moved them to their 75 gallon tank. They seem to like it so far.

Is it normal to find scales at the bottom of your tank?

I was just doing my weekly water change and I came across a detached scale on the bottom of the tank. Is it normal for goldfish to lose scales? All my perams are fine and I have no decorations or substrate.

My goldfish is turning black...

My goldfish is turning black...

I recently got a new goldfish and he's changing colors. When I brought him home from the pet store he was almost all gold with just the littlest of black on him. Now, he's probably about 50% black. I've included before and after pictures. We've had him for three days now and he's swimming around, eating, acting like a normal goldfish.. I did also get another goldfish at the same time and she's still all gold. Any ideas as to what could be causing it? Should I be concerned? I admit I'm a newby to keeping goldfish and just want to make sure my friends stay happy and healthy.

Finally getting a new tank!

My sister is sending money for a new and bigger tank. Any tips for moving the fish? And what I should do?One of them is still unfortunately sick (I think it's fin rot) but I'm just treating them with salt for now because I'm scared of over medicating from the get go. I just hope the bigger tank will make them feel better.

Rescued Fancy Goldfish Advice Needed

Comet gulping at surface? Other does not, there is a bubble maker. Very quick question

Posted: 29 Sep 2019 02:17 AM PDT

So I have two comets of around 2 to 3 inches in a 65l tank. There are a few live plants and a submersible pump that let's out a small but constant stream of tiny bubbles.

The one comet keeps gulping at the surface and I'm trying to work out why. I'm hoping it's just searching for flakes but Iv noticed it for the last few days and have been very busy and not watched it other than the hour or so around feeding times. The other guy is still going about business as usual

The tank is heated and summer is coming but there shouldn't be an increase in max temperature at this point

Recently there was an algae outbreak which I only dealt with by doing a 2/3 water change and wiping the sides and scrubbing the bigger rocks

I also recently cable tied some filter sponge onto the outlet of the pump to decrease the current which also reduced the bubbles but they are still constant
