- Found a fresh water bivalve 3 months ago and it is the BEST filter service you can get. George approves.
- What is this growth? Had this fish for 6+ years. Started growing this about 1.5 years ago. Does not seem to affect movement, eating, pooping, mood. Is this a tumor?
- If I get 2 goldfish, how big does the tank need to be? Should I get a water filter for the tank?

Wondering why my little fish is gasping at the surface? Posted: 23 Sep 2019 07:45 PM PDT Hello Reddit, back again for some advice! I have a tank that's been running and established since the start of the year. One black moor-ish goldfish, and one small fantail cutie. https://i.imgur.com/xfpL6NG.jpg I have mostly live plants, lots of Java Fern, some Anubias, a couple Amazon sword plants, and a Pothos that I'm waiting to start rooting! Some real driftwood mixed with a fake piece. I literally just tested my water since I know you'll ask! 😉 30 gallon tank with 0 Ammonia 0 NitrIte and 10-20 NitrAte. It seems all good, like the Holy Grail of comfy water! Temperature is at 76° and stays there or maybe a couple of degrees cooler throughout the day. I have a large airstone giving lots of bubbles, and a Fluval 70 because these monsters and my 4 snails poop A LOT. ANYWAY, I am wondering why my little goldy Trill McGillicuddy may be breathing at the surface if params are all good? Is he/she searching for food? They definitely don't need it with how much they devour my plants and how much they eat! So what's the deal? 🤔 Any help is appreciated! 💜 [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Sep 2019 01:27 PM PDT Hello, I had a question about my filtration. I have a 60 gallon Tank housing a 3 inch Lionhead, 4.5 inch Lionchu, and a 5 inch Thai Oranda. I currently have a moving bed filter, Aqueon Quietflow 50 with medium sponge only, and a SunSun 304b. The Sunsun has one tray with 1 course, and two medium sponges. The next tray has 2 fine sponges and poly fill for polishing. The last two trays hold in total 5 pounds of Bio Home Ultimate and a few bioballs. My question is if this is enough filtration for these three fancies? If not, would you guys recommend getting another canister filter? Possibly another 304b? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Boy and girl?? Possible mating?? Posted: 23 Sep 2019 07:31 AM PDT Ok so yesterday and this morning I saw my redcap oranda sitting on the floor. The redcap is named Einstein because of his big "big brain" and because he is actually dumb...lol. The calico is named Fish. We thought both were boys. They have been living together for about 3 to 4 months. When we got Fish he was a quite a bit smaller than Einstein but has had quite the glow-up in the last couple of weeks. So today when Einstein got up off the floor Fish was coming at him chasing him all around. I then noticed what I THINK might be breeding stars on Fish. Are they trying to breed? Here is a pic can you tell me if they are both the same sex... different...or if Fish just has ich or something? Though all of these spots I am seeing are on his face and front of his pectoral fins. Here are the pics...thank you! [link] [comments] |
