I live in Osaka japan and just bought a 古民家 (traditional wooden Japanese house) with a yard. If possible after all the renovations are done and I have enough money left I want to build a koi pond. It's always been a dream of mine to have one at home.

Electricity prices aren't cheap here so I'm not sure if I can afford that part. Any ideas how much I'm looking at? Ideally I'd like something in front of the house that's sort of long that I could build a little walkway/bridge over. Probably shallow Bc I have a son who's almost 3 (who only stays with me sometimes). He's probably fine but I worry about something happening so I'd prefer shallow for now.

I'm trying to find averages electricity prices in Osaka, I'll edit it in if I can find it.

Edit: It sounds like i make a lot of money, but I don't. I looked for a house for 3 years and finally grabbed this one for an insane deal, but it's old and I'll be doing the renovations myself. I guess it was too intimidating for most people. Anyways, I have a house in Osaka but I won't be able to afford a crazy electricity bill.

Infection from pond

I reached my hand into my skimmer to clean it out today and now I have slight swelling and pain where I had a tiny paper cut. I'm freaking out because I keep seeing articles about how the necrotizing fasciitis is being found in more and more places in the US. Is it possible my pond has it? It's 1,800 gallons and I have 9 koi and a bass with two bubblers and a large waterfall filter system. I clean the skimmer and pump weekly but the algae has been really bad in my pond. The fish appear totally fine. Is there a chance I could have this? I'm freaking out
