When should I feed my algae eater

My friend told me to use algae eater pellets to feed my algae eater he only comes out at night so do I feed him at night or day when I feed my other fish?

Goldfish ripped tail isn't healing and sick fish aren't getting better, help!

I have a few big goldfish in my tank but 2 in particular:

  • one had/has the fluke: it got super skinny and i treated it with prazi, it hasn't gained any weight back and it's been about 2-3 weeks but I've seen it poop which I assumed meant it got better (because my understanding was worms eat the food fish eat so fish won't poo anything), but there is this one patch of colour on its scale that isn't going away, is this a sign that maybe the worm is still there?
  • one has white bludge-y stuff growing out of the side. as I was treating it with pimafix, I saw another white fluff grow out onto it, I treated it with pimafix for a week and saw no improvements and had to change plans to treat the fluke fish first since it was looking real bad/more urgent. Also, I'm hoping that the pimafix was the right medicine to use

Last Thursday I started noticing only these 2 fish have ripped tails, the fluke one with more rips, and the other sick one had some rips and lost some scales. I googled and it said to leave the tails to heal by itself but started medicating the tank with pimafix on Sunday in hopes to heal the white bludge-y fish and to help with the ripped tails. I haven't seen any improvements yet, rather, probably am seeing the opposite.

I changed 15% of the water on Sunday and tested the pH and it was fine (will get nitrate and ammonia tested tomorrow as I don't have an at-home kit). The other fish in my tank are strong and healthy otherwise. I'm self-diagnosing my fish so can anyone give me thoughts/suggestions on how to treat my tank? Or if I'm doing anything wrong? What else I can be doing?
