Planted Aquarium - Day 27 of my dirted nano tank. What do you guys think? |
- Day 27 of my dirted nano tank. What do you guys think?
- Gold neons and an overgrown HC ‘Cuba’ carpet
- Water droplets on the ends of my grass blades -- dry start
- High tech tank with my shrimp grazing in the foreground
- Orange vs. green
- After failing with dwarf baby tears, I'm giving a S. Repens carpet a shot. Wish me luck!
- Been about 2 months since I first started
- The end. See you guys in awhile.
- I lack the photography skills the rest of you have, but I'm really happy with how my tank is turning out.
- My attempt at a walstad tank. Thoughts? I worry my gravel is too big and too thin.
- Just finished planting my first aquarium, and it’s possible I bought too many plants
- Catfish, combination of the stars of my show
- I am not sure what my Ozelot Sword is up to, but I am very proud!
- The start of a 5gal panted tank. Pay no mind to the stick in the back discount plant
- My rams loving the new plants
- My RCS Colony!
- Just set this up last night, our first tank with all natural decor, no plastic
- Something different - part 4 - anchoring
- Magnesium deficiencies are no joke.
- What are good schooling fish for a iwagumi style tank?
- Massive trim and rescape! Thoughts?

Magnesium deficiencies are no joke. Posted: 30 Jul 2019 04:53 PM PDT CO2, EI dosing, high tech tank. I have soft water. I have been using Equilibrium in conjunction with crushed coral to bring up the GH and KH, which eventually brought my calcium pretty high, but the Equilibrium should have enough magnesium, right? Wrong. Not even close to enough magnesium. After starting dosing Epsom Salt (MgSO4) with my micros, all of my plants that have been showing deficiencies have absolutely taken off. My Ludwigia Repens, which was largely doing nothing but collecting bba for months, has doubled in size in two weeks and had THREE new side shoots that have formed in that same two weeks on multiple stems. The old growth is staying healthy and not collecting bba anymore. My Alternanthera Reineckii actually started holding onto it's colors and continually putting out new leaves in the terminal bud. In the same way as my Ludwigia, older growth is not deteriorating the same way. This makes me want to mix my own GH booster. There's no reason to have such little proportional magnesium (and ridiculous amounts of potassium) in the retail mixtures. Magnesium can be overlooked in the Micros/Macros EI discussion. It is not an afterthought! Don't forget about it! :) [link] [comments]
What are good schooling fish for a iwagumi style tank? Posted: 30 Jul 2019 06:04 PM PDT Looking for suggestions on schooling fish that would look great in iwagumi style tank. I have a 20 g rimless. Most nano schooling fish require tall plants. [link] [comments]
