My baby Yoda and his sibling Mew in the back. Such a handsome lotl!

Finally picked my new baby up. It's missing a bit of Gill and 2 hands. One hand is growing back. Seems as though they were housing two together and the bigger one was bullying Baby.

Treating fungus. Salt bath?

Posted: 09 Jun 2019 10:01 PM PDT

I recently moved house and set up a larger aquarium for my lotl. During the move I wasn't able to do a water change for 2 weeks, but now he's in a new tank with 100% tap water. This morning I noticed what seems to be white fungus on his body. I did a water test and the nitrate, ammonia, nitrite are all low (which I expected since the tank is new). I read up about it here: http://www.axolotl.org/health.htm and they recommend a salt bath.
Has anyone else done this before? I did one just then (2 tsps of salt per litre; 5ltr bath; 10 min exposure) , but am still worried that it's an extreme measure since the salt could harm it's gills.

How many times a day to feed?

Posted: 09 Jun 2019 03:44 PM PDT

I just got my axolotl. I have trout worms, which are similar to little nightcrawlers but less than half as big around

I fed him a piece about as big as the space between his eyes because I read that was a good size. He ate it no problem.

He's about 3 inches right now. Not a baby, but definitely still growing.

Should frequently should I offer him food?

The worm piece was about 1.5 cm or smaller.

I don't want to overfeed, but I don't want him hungry.

Thanks!
