Aquarium help

Posted: 23 May 2019 09:37 PM PDT

I am trying to start my first aquarium. I am leaning toward salt water but would like input before I start. I have a large bedroom and tank. Any input that could help me with this would be greatly appreciated.

Questions on corals and ammonia

Posted: 23 May 2019 07:33 PM PDT

I am new to reefing and I searched this online and couldn't get any answers for it. Can anyone tell me whether will the addition of a few corals cause an ammonia spike in my tank? Do they produce ammonia? Thank you!

Elegance Coral dieing

Posted: 23 May 2019 12:24 PM PDT

So I got an Elegance a couple months ago it's not doing very well, white stringy lines all over it arms shriveled or missing. Should I take it out of the tank? Will it pollute the water as it dies?this is what it looks like

Is it possible to kill sponges without harming anything else?

Posted: 23 May 2019 05:52 PM PDT

I have sponges growing on my gsp that almost seem to be strangling it. The sponges are getting to be so thick I think the polyps can't even open. It's a white sponge that underneath looks like it has sand or something when I rip it up.

ID please - These started popping up all over my tank. They’re about the size of a pinhead, my tank is about six months old. Are they harmful or beneficial?

Red cyano bloom

Posted: 23 May 2019 11:54 AM PDT

Hey guys I had red cyano about a month ago and I managed to get rid of it. About 2 days ago I decided to add some phytoplankton for my coral. Within seconds of me adding it, I see my front wall where the sand is turn red. Why is that? Is it bad phyto?
