Picked this anemone up today. Anyone got a decent ID on what kind this is and if a clown might host it?

75 Gallon tank LED Light

Posted: 14 May 2019 10:57 PM PDT

So I noticed these mars hydro aquarium lights are a little taxed up on the aquarium side of things.

Could I just rock two 300watt mars hydros, that I use to grow cannabis with?

Bad hair algae problem and I can’t get it to go away

Posted: 14 May 2019 03:32 PM PDT

I have had this hair algae for over 2 months now. After I had it for a month I pulled 80% of it out of the tank. Within 24 hours my yellow tank and clam died. The hair algae is just coming back. I put a sea hare in the tank but I never see him eating it.

pH- 8.2/8.4, Ammonia- 0 ppm, Nitrite- 0 ppm, Nitrate- 0 ppm-5.0 ppm, Salinity- 1.025, Water temp- 78°F

I made a post about this the other day but this has way more info. Thanks for your help

PSA: keep your reef tanks in places where kids can't get

Posted: 14 May 2019 03:35 PM PDT

If you are considering getting a reef tank and you have kids, only do it if you can put it behind a locked door.

I have two medium sized tanks (65G and a 55G) and have overcame and survived a few tank disasters. I never lost as much coral as when my daughter started messing with the tanks. The TL;DR; version is tomorrow I am going to buy a new larger tank that will be in the back room and combine what is left of both of the tanks. I had a tabling acropora that was doing ok until she stepped on it.

Wait.. what? Yes, my daughter stepped on my tabling acropora. She found a way to climb INTO the tank and stand in the sand. We were in the same room too and our backs were turned. She did it in like 15 seconds.

Today I bought the extra Brute cans to mix water and will have about 88 G of water prepared. I figure that plus the water in the tanks should get me ready for a large tank.

On plus: I get a large tank. Except, she took out some of my coral. So, not worth it.

Coral In A 20 Gallon Tank

Posted: 14 May 2019 05:32 PM PDT

I have a 20 Gallon tall tank. I will be looking to add a couple coral down the road. I planned on getting glove polyps, blue beauty zoanthids, and fluorescent tip torch coral. I made sure that all of these were "easy" since I am new to the hobby. Do you think these coral would be suitable for my tank? What chemicals should I begin to dose before I introduce any coral? Should I add anything to the media reactor?

I own this light: https://sbreeflights.com/sbox-reef-lights/70-new-18-sbox-basic.html

What light would be a good option for me? [Help]

Posted: 14 May 2019 04:40 PM PDT

Im Currently running a nuvo 20 mixed reef with an ati sunpower 4 bulb but I'm not happy with the amount of heat it pumps out (I live in LA) so I think I want to switch to LEDs. Any recommendations for this size tank?
