/r/plantedtank's Weekly Random Acts of Kindness! Posted: 24 May 2019 03:04 PM PDT The Purpose: We all perform tank maintenance. Sometimes, perfectly good plants end up in the trash because they simply outgrow their limited environment. Why not share these plants with another hobbyist? This monthly thread offers a space where buyers and traders can congregate, promote biodiversity, and make the world better. Offering other aquarium-related items for sale or trade is also acceptable, but keep in mind this is a "Random Acts of Kindness" thread. All equipment and plant-life should be offered in either trade or for as cheap as is possible. If you'd like to offer your homemade ferts, foods, or other equipment for retail sale, please visit the plantedtank.net's forums. Posting retail items for sale is not appropriate in this thread and those comments will be removed with a polite warning. The Rules: 1. If you would like to post a "WTB" (want to buy) or ISO (in search of), you must also offer items for RAOK or trade in the same comment. "WTB/ISO" posts that do not offer anything in return will be removed to keep this thread in line with its intended purpose.
Buyer/Seller Feedback: Did you have a remarkable experience with a seller or a buyer? Please message the mods and let us know, whether your feedback be good or bad. Shipping Instructions:

Posted: 24 May 2019 06:59 PM PDT Hello everyone! I am new to the planted tank community, and have what I hope is a relatively simple question. I apologize if this question has been asked somewhere else, but I haven't been able to find my exact variation of this question on this or any other forum. In looking at LED lighting for medium lighting on a 50 gallon tank (48.5w x 12.7d x18.8h), I see the 24/7 cc come up frequently recommended, particularly as "good bang for the buck." My hesitation is that, on amazon, there are a relatively high number of reviews saying that the lights have poor longevity. Do you folks have any other recommendations for medium lighting that you would consider better quality (regardless of cost)? I'd rather spend more once, than have to replace the light in a year. Secondarily, if I'm primarily upgrading my lighting to have more plant options (mostly stems), would you all think medium will be sufficient, or should I shoot for high lighting to broaden my options? I'm not really that interested in adding yet another component - CO2 - at this juncture, and in looking at the lighting guide on the sidebar, it seems high light basically requires CO2. Thank you all so much for your help, and again I apologize if I missed a similar question elsewhere. Please feel free to simply provide the link if you know of a good answer given on another thread. Amano and cherry shrimps compatibility. Posted: 25 May 2019 01:40 AM PDT Hi, I currently have a shrimp tank only amano shrimps and I am planning to purchase some cherry shrimps. I've seen so many different opinions online regarding amano eating cherries and amano living peacefully with cherries. Just want to know if it's fine for both of them together. [link] [comments] | ||
