Moving koi, need help

Posted: 25 May 2019 03:21 AM PDT

my parents have a leak in their pond (got a well which has been topping it up every couple days) so I'm slowly moving fish to reline the pond. They have one deformed koi which he said he accidentally caught and already moved it (I didn't like that, should have waited to do them all) and he is lonely. I want to move another over to the temporary pond which is a fair size but not completely filled up yet though it's about 2-3 foot deep.

The deformed koi is the smallest but I want to move the next smallest with him, I think we will wait until the last minute for the other 2 as one of them is exceptionally big. They are all around 20 years.

I'm a bit worried about the change of temp, is it fine to just pick him up and carry it over in the net and drop him in slowly, or put it in a bucket with the pond water and let the bucket sit in the pool for a while?

The other fish adapted okay, just seems lonely and hiding under the weed. It has a lot of smaller fish in there but it's not the same....in the winter when it's cold he flips upside down due to it's tail being all bent and the other 3 koi tend to right him up the right way and prop him up keeping by his side, I'm also worried if they are separated a long time, they won't treat him as good as they did before, but I don't know.

Size of the pond is fine, it's got everything, no need to give advice on that, it's just the transporting him, which is about 10-15 meters :P

Best way to kill anchor worms

Posted: 25 May 2019 12:56 AM PDT

So i have been having an achor worm problem. My fish are in quarantine currently as im upgrading the pond.

My pond is about 6000-7000 gallons with filtration into account.

Is there an easy way to solve this problem without physically removing the anchor worms itself with tweezers?

I am treating only with salt atm...
