Advice DIY Tank Stand vs Buying ?

Not sure if this kind of question is allowed, but in a nut shell, I recently purchase a ADA 60p and was looking for good tank stand options. My LFS has one that is flush with the tank but runs for about $200. At quick glance, it seemed like 1/2" plywood painted black with a laminate top. I felt a little weary of it holding 150-200+ pounds but it may have been reinforced with 2x2's in the corners.

I started thinking about putting one together, but the lack of power tools such as table / circular saw and a big space does make things complicated. Also, I've done very basic woodworking but nothing that could hold the weight of a tank and everything in it.

I started scouring the net for ideas and found a few plans that people were using to make something similar to the ADA Wood Cabinets.

Using rough measurements for some of the components, I can get all of my pieces to fit on a 24" x 96" x 3/4" plywood sheet (would 3/4" be overkill?). Playing with sketchup I made something like this:

I'd aim to join the panels together with wood glue, counter sink the screws, fill, then sand.

Going with 3/4" Plywood I'd only come ahead in terms of pricing up to $50, and 1/2" could save me upto 100$.

Would these plans potentially work and would it be worth pursuing? Been on the fence on this one and was hoping someone would steer me in a direction.

Thanks for reading this looooong post.
