Recommended CO2 regulators that aren't $100+? Posted: 25 May 2019 03:02 PM PDT I'm looking to get pressurized co2 set up for relatively cheap. I have a paintball tank, tubing, and I've seen plenty of diffusers and check valves that aren't expensive. But, regulator prices are kind of ridiculous. the lowest sold at my LFS is about $80. Everyone recommends aquatek and CO2art as good, cheap options, but their cheapest ones are $150. That's more than I paid to set up my entire tank lol. There are a lot of options on eBay for around $30-40, but with only 2 reviews on each, I'm not entirely trustworthy of those options. Sure they could work great, but they could just as easily be cheap junk. Do affordable and reliable regulators exist anymore? or are we stuck with these high prices? [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 26 May 2019 12:34 AM PDT I've been in this hobby for ~3 years, and have kept java moss in 3 different periods of time. The first 2 didn't work out despite everybody saying how it can be grown in a toilet with minimal light. After a lot of reading, I decided to give it a try again. I'm on my 3rd try and have found some success in the 1 month that I've kept it. The big difference that I did vs my previous attempt is that I didn't dose. I just let the tank (with a few fish) take care of the moss. In the past I was proactive in making sure there're plenty of nutrients. I dosed seachem potassium, and even got KNO3, and some other dry ferts after getting suggestions after posting my java moss that was brownish. I think the key to Java Moss is to have an adequate light and don't bother with ferts. That's a totally different story with Java Fern though...from my experience they tend to struggle/not grow without ferts. [link] [comments] |
