Posted: 26 May 2019 12:10 AM PDT I usually put the prime water into the bucket of water I prepared but forgot. I poured it into the tank just now to hopefully fix my mistake. What should I do? Am I going to kill my fish? [link] [comments]

Opinions on sponge filters as only filtration in a goldfish tank. Posted: 25 May 2019 07:27 AM PDT I'm planning on setting up a 40 gallon for a pair of fancy goldfish. I've kept fish for a long time but it's been a while since I've had goldfish. I know they're messy fish. But do you think a quality sponge filter (or two) would be adequate to filter a goldfish tank as long as I spot clean frequently between water changes? [link] [comments]

TIFU by adding my fish too early. What can I do now? Posted: 25 May 2019 12:41 PM PDT I have a 30 gallon tank with 3 younger fancy goldfish. This won't be a permanent home, but with their small size now, I think it's okay. Correct me if I'm wrong. I believe that I added the fish too early. At the pet store, I was told one day was enough. After seeing symptoms and doing research, I now know this is false. I should've done my own research beforehand on this topic, I know. I added 2 fish to start, then another one from a different location a few days later. At first, one of my original fish started to lay down at the bottom of the tank. Now they all stay hiding and laying at the bottom. I might be overfeeding them too. Perhaps they're constipated? Now that I'm pretty sure my fish have new tank syndrome, what can I do? Can I add Tetra safe start with the fish already in there? I'm willing to do daily water changes as well. I also have a 20 gallon tank (should be completely cycled at this point) with 5 zebra danios and 5 white clouds. I could temporarily add them to that tank, but I don't know if that's a good idea. I don't want these fish to suffer from my dumb mistakes. Any advice is greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]

Pond got really cold, what do do? Posted: 25 May 2019 06:41 AM PDT Temperature in the pond is usually around 70F. It's getting cold in my country and today it's 62 degrees in the pond and all my 5 goldfish are bottom sitting. They are babies, still a little less then 4 inches and i do have a hospital tank of 25 gallons cycled. My 340 gallon is not ready yet for them, will be ready next week. Should I move them in to the 25g? Or will they be fine at that temperature outside? What's the limit? Here's a video of how they usually are (eating homemade gel food). They haven't come up to me today. [link] [comments]
