My little 18gallon planted tank

[Beginner] Accidentally disturbed substrate while filling tank, after the cloudy water cleared there is dirt settled on my plants, is this bad?

Posted: 21 May 2019 03:00 AM PDT

I feel like this would be bad for the plants photosynthesising so how could I fix this?

The filter is running, ive tried to swab the leaves with a q tip but its too hard and will take too long to clean all the individual leaves, I also tried blowing the dirt off with a straw but that didnt fair well either. Next time I will cap the substrate with sand.

Cleaned out the hornwort...

Hello everybody, new here. I recently started a 20 gallon very lightly planted tank and I added a pygmy chain sword. It's been about a month and it's growing some odd woody tendrils on it's leaves. Is it starting to flower? Or is it a parasite (probably not)?

Playing around with my new camera in my "planted tank"

Posted: 20 May 2019 11:01 AM PDT

Co2 doesn't start back up in the morning. I have to use my needle valve to get it to run again. I could use some help.

Posted: 21 May 2019 12:48 AM PDT

It will run fine in the evening and then shut off for the night, but the next day it won't turn back on again. So I turn open my needle valve and readjust my bps. This causes my co2 to fluctuate heavily, especially because I get home late from work and can only then turn it on. My solenoid is working just fine. Any tips?

Plant growth- DSM vs. Co2

Posted: 20 May 2019 08:20 PM PDT

I'm 3 weeks into dsm on my tank. I'm anxious to flood and add some more plants. Does anyone know how growth in a dry tank compares to a flooded tank with Co2. I will at least wait another week or so, unless the dry tank is significantly faster and it's worth to wait for the carpet to fully cover the foreground.

Everyone is digging there new set up and plants !

Those of you that have tried those seed packs for carpet plants, how's it working in the long run?

Posted: 20 May 2019 10:57 PM PDT

I kind of want to give it a shot if I end up resetting my fluval spec. My LFS has a display tank they claim started from seed and it looks good and healthy. It's been a few months since I've checked in on it, but the owner says they're great(possibly biased trying to make a sale). I know there are lots of bad ones out there, but I've also seen some good reviews. So I want to hear from you guys if they really do last or not.
