Planted Aquarium - All I wanted was a betta fish, how did I end up with 5 aquariums? |
- All I wanted was a betta fish, how did I end up with 5 aquariums?
- The first of what will probably end up being several tanks in my home office
- I got into planted tanks because I always wanted a hair grass carpet. After multiple failures, these runners are a dream come true
- Reach for the stars
- My first tank ever! How did I do?
- A little wonderland
- A few plants ( low tech)
- Pricey but worth every penny! Keep an eye out for when this gets delivered next week
- Plant trim and tank clean before a long trip.
- Anubias that arrived at work today. I have NEVER seen them come in this big before! And we had two come in this big.
- Can you spot my tiny Peanut? The dwarf puffer.
- Cube tank week 2
- First inhabitants added! (Beside some Ostracod I saw today) Forktail Rainbowfish. Next will be a school of Green Neon Tetras then a pair of Triple Red Cockatoo Apistos. Do you have any tips for a cleanup crew? Otto? Shrimp? Recommendations welcome!!
- 2 months, just added the back row minus the anubias Nana yesterday. On the hunt for one last schooling fish group
- Aerial shot of my favorite tank. 35 gal hex turned 24 gal paulidarium.
- My tanks aren't as beautiful as some here, but I can grow Java Fern.
- My first ever actual aquascape is now done. How is it?
- Hey all! I have what I believe is a red dwarf lily and it's growing like crazy, but doesn't have much of the color showing. I'm curious what I could do to help with the color. Also, is it possible to split this plant into two plants. It originally only had one long lily and now it has like 8. TY!
- How to get rid of this algae?
- Miracle grow soil floating
- Anyone know why my AR mini is getting tall and "curly" at the top? It used to be shorter and more full but I haven't changed lighting. I plan to trim tonight.
- Outdoor Indoor lawn? Is there a special aquatic grass?

| Posted: 16 May 2019 06:58 PM PDT Bought a bag of miracle gro natures care organic garden soil, sifted it through about a 1/4 inch metal screen, and put it into a Rubbermaid tub. Added water and stirred thoroughly, let it sit for a couple of hours. I would say that 75% of the soil is floating, only a small amount actually sinks. Am I missing something here? Do I need to let it soak longer? Or is there just a ton of woody organic matter that I need to toss away. I am planning to put a 1 inch layer on the bottom of my 20 long tank. Then I will It with a thin layer of aqua Solem black humate soil, then top of that with black sand. Picshttps://i.imgur.com/swHq4Bq.jpg [link] [comments] | ||

| Outdoor Indoor lawn? Is there a special aquatic grass? Posted: 16 May 2019 07:17 PM PDT My husband bought a bag of mixed grass seed for our patchy backyard and now we have leftover seeds. I'm curious how successful I would be if we use the rest to dry start a "lawn" for an aquarium then fill the tank after it has grown more sturdy. I've seen people keep (some kind) of grass in a tank for a brief time but not sure about long term. [link] [comments] |
