What medication can I use for internal parasites?

Posted: 07 May 2019 07:46 PM PDT

Previously I posted here about my sick goldfish, later I realised it's probably something internal, possibly internal worms or parasites. Unfortunately, it seems like the rest of the fish have been infected as well. It seems for now that they still have an appetite but their stomachs are sinking in day by day. I went to the local aquarium and owner said most places only sell medication for external problems due to import laws - I'm in Australia for those who are wondering. Got referred to a vet, and their medication is prescribed so I'll have to pay $175 (for each fish) to have them checked out and get prescription which isn't really a viable option for me.

It seems like I'm able to buy these medications off of ebay (though I haven't tried). Can anyone help identify the sickness and/or give me options for medication I can use? I saw Seachem's Paragard as a highly recommended one but also read that it doesn't actually medicate internal parasites.

Many thanks everyone!

hey. I have had this goldfish for 6 years. I will tell everything bluntly. 10 gallon aquarium. Freshwater. I have an air pump. One fish. 2 Weeks ago i stupidly put a fish in the aquarium (fathead minnow) but it died. Maybe that's what's caused this red stuff to appear. Anyways if anyone knows what this is it would help me a lot. I just did a 50 percent water change and scraped algae off the sides of the tank.

Goldfish breeding health issues

Before reading this, I'm new to goldfish and fish keeping in general so I am sorry if its a stupid question. I've had two comet goldfish for almost a year now and one recently gave eggs. The other however, has been bleeding from its vent and it almost looks like there is a clot of sorts in its vent. Is this normal during breeding season? Also it has blood on/in its tail fin (not a lot, it's an albino so it stands out)

Help with light-shy goldfish?

Posted: 07 May 2019 06:04 AM PDT

Hello everyone! I just wanted to ask if any of you have had experience with their goldfish being afraid of the light? After moving mine to a bigger tank with two lights because plants, but we immediately noticed that she had a bad reaction to it - darting around everywhere, making a commotion, ignoring food, etc.. So we kept the light off, until I mounted one of the tank lights above the tank - in hopes that less light would make a difference. It didn't. So I'm stuck on what to do - get a decent sized piece of wood with plants on it to act as shade (a hiding place to get used to the lights), or should I do something differently? I also don't want to leave the tank lights-free, obviously, because of plants. I'd be glad to get some input.

Thanks!

Posted: 07 May 2019 04:46 AM PDT

Good day. Can somebody tell me what can i do besides fasting and feeding peas and other veggies? I've seen people do operations on fishes when they suck the air out of the bladder but im kinda scared to do that. Thanks
