Can somebody please help me diagnose this?? He’s acting perfectly normal, his tank parameters are 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 5ppm nitrate (in container so I could get a better look)

So my boy Major Tom loves to flare up all the time, he flares up at me, my husband, our cats, everything, he acts like he really wants you to jump in his tank and fight him. He doesn't do this all the time but he definitely does it a lot and I finally got a small mirror for him to flare and spar with... and he hid from it. I put it in his tank and he hid from it the entire time and even when I took it out and held it near the glass he still refused to come near me XD guess he's all talk. He usually never hides, I have to move him out of my way while I'm doing tank maintenance because he'll just float on by like I'm not even there or he'll get curious and want to see what I'm doing

I accidentally murdered my brothers betta fish

My little brother's fish had fin rot and my brother was not taking care of it. So I went to bathroom to clean his fish's tank bc it smelt and looked horrible. I just wanted to do this fast bc I was in a hurry so I poured the nasty water and the betta fish into the sink and proceeded to clean the tank. I was just going to pick the fish up with my hand but he kept swimming away. So I started draining the sinK and there goes the fish. I feel so bad bc it is my fault and I don't know what will happen if I tel my brother bc my brother and I have a close bond. I keep trying to justify it in my head saying it had fin rot it was not going to live anyways but at the end I murdered a fish in the most cruel way possible. My hands are shaking from the guilt. Im not a religious person and I even asked God for forgiveness and prayed that the fish passed on quickly and painless when it was going down the drain. I really do hope the fish is doing well in Heaven. Im so sorry. I'm so sorry. I feel ashamed to own my pet fish. I'm am so sorry. I really am sorry. I so sorry. I'm so sorry.

New to Bettas looking for some advice.

I just got my 5gal nano tank in the mail today. I'm going to start cycling the tank this weekend and get the plants set up. What plants should I use for such a small tank? Do I need to gravel vac as often with a planted tank? Would I need c02 for such a small tank? This will be my first planted tank so hardy plants would be ideal.

Is this fin rot? I got him about a month ago and it hasn’t worsened/changed at all since. I posted a picture asking the same thing before but this is a much better picture. He seems happy, energetic, and is breathing fine, but I’m just a lil concerned of the white/clear tips on his fin. Thanks!
