| Can I keep koi fish and arowanas together? Posted: 03 May 2019 12:48 AM PDT I was wondering if I could keep arowanas with koi fish. They have different diets and I know arowanas can be very territorial. Will they attack the koi? Are they able to live in the same water conditions etc.? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 02 May 2019 07:57 AM PDT We had noticed that we had fish disappearing and thought it might have been because of a cat we've seen running around or maybe a raccoon or possum but thought it was odd we'd never found any remnants. Well, yesterday I saw a giant heron that was in our backyard. It wasn't really anywhere near the pond, but my guess is that's what's been getting our fish. I think it must be walking up either from under our deck from the back yard or through the small opening next to the pond that goes through a couple trees and opens to a field out front. The previous owners specifically designed things so there's no good flight path and there's definitely doesn't seem to be enough room for it to land. I added new plants a couple weeks ago that are starting to grow well and will help block the area. Has anyone had any luck in getting rid of herons? Id rather not completely fence off the pond.
