I did a presentation in class tonight on the nitrogen cycle in freshwater aquariums

Posted: 07 May 2019 10:10 PM PDT

For my BIOSCI100 class, we had to present something tied into biology. I was nervous because I hate being the center of attention and I got rushed in my delivery, but I think it went okay except for being too short.

There was a Q&A portion afterwards where a classmate tried to argue that because she has never done a water change for her comet goldfish in a year and just adds new tap water on occasion, this is obviously not important or real. sigh

And now I'm apparently the class fish nerd 🤓 because I decided to share a concept that I've actually looked into outside of class.

I just got home to my fish a few minutes ago, fed them dinner, and will be awaiting my reviews for the presentation anxiously.

Tank being overrun by algae suddenly after a year of running stable. No clue what kind, tried a three day blackout with no success. All tank parameters in spec and stable, 50% RO water change weekly. Photos attached for reference. Help?

Need some name advice for this little guy

Just wanna share my cute little King Tiger Pleco and BN Catfish. They’re my favourites

This big guy is in my sister's 150g. He spends his time ripping out plants, digging in the substrate, and knocking over all the decorations.

Did a little rescape. Moved around some plants. Added a few floating plants and some java moss on my log. Really happy with how it's coming along
