Hello all,

Found this sub today while doing some bored research. (I've been in hospital since early February and sometimes I'm struggling for things to keep me entertained.) It has been forever since I had an aquarium of any sort and the other day I came across a photo of a gorgeous plant only tank and thought that sounded interesting. Did a bunch of reading and decided that the planted tank needs a colony of shrimps. So more reading and here I am in this sub. Just wanted to say hi and tell y'all that from what I've seen, there are some beautiful tanks out there. I cant wait to get home and start my tank(s).

What plant can I use to grow a good carpet in my shrimp tank?

Currently no shrimp in it. Just setting it up.

Also- what is that black/brown ball substrate I see in photos?

Ghost shrimp: dead or moulted?

Posted: 15 Apr 2019 11:30 AM PDT

Hey everyone, I've found two of what I'm hoping are exoskeletons in my shrimp tank, but as I have no idea what a dead ghostie looks like I thought I'd double check. I can also only currently see two shrimp (I have four) but they're experts at hiding so that doesn't mean much.

Pics here.

Jumping into Shrimptanks

So I've decided to set up a shrimp tank after discovering this sub. It's a 6g aio from petco that's been dry in my garage for over a year. Just set it up yesterday, so the cycle has to run, and the plants, I'm hoping, will spread some.

I've always kept reef tanks, and the wife has always had freshwater planted tanks, with a love for shrimp, so we are going for it. Waiting on my eheim 100 for the foam filter, for now just letting the water circulate. Any tips or suggestions?

Will multiple colored neos thrive in the same tank? Example blue and red rilis.

Does anybody know some good websites to buy cherry shrimp online and be shipped? Price does not matter. I looked at Flip Aquatics and I am considering that. Are they any good?
