I upgraded their light, rearranged the tank, and bought them some actual food over the weekend and woke up to this today! Any tips for my first BBB (Beautiful berried babe)?

Happy Monday! Best of luck to those with finals and congrats to those who don’t have to deal with that. Here is a time lapse of my black/blue neo colony paired with one of my favorite indie bands.

I want to start up a 10 gallon shrimp tank with cherry shrimp; hat is the best way to cycle the new tank? Should I add a few shrimps and let it rest for a few weeks or should I do something else? :)

White blotching on Dennerli. Asking for advice.

Hi,

Im new to keeping shrimp around 6 months in and got a group of Dennerli 1 month ago (i did get 6 of them 2 months ago and they have had babies) I have around 30 of them (the babies keep to the shadows so hard to count). But anyway one adult has the marks on the pic, should i be concerned? Is there something I should do?

Thanks.

Why am I not getting babies?

Posted: 29 Apr 2019 09:04 PM PDT

I have had a colony of neos for about six months in a 10 gallon aquarium with a Fluval hob and the corresponding very fine pre filter. I keep the filter on the lowest flow. I feed a variety of foods: freeze dried bloodworms, algae wafers, blanched zucchini, homemade snail jello, fish food, and sinking shrimp pellets. I do a roughly 1/4 water change each week and add Aquarium co-op easy green (the recommended dose) and finally my temperature is 80f. I have kept the roughly 17 I have alive but haven't seen any babies or berried ladies. Anything I'm overlooking or doing something wrong?

Unexpected shrimp eggs- what should I get?

Posted: 29 Apr 2019 08:25 PM PDT

So I bought a bunch of neos a month or so ago and one of them is already berried. Needless to say I didn't expect it to happen that fast. I have a regular pump filter and I heard those can suck baby shrimp in- what should I get to block it? I heard you have to buy some sort of porous media to put around the hole, could anyone provide me with a link or a picture? Thanks a lot!

will 2 sponge filters be enough flow for a 12 gallon long tank(36 inches long)

Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:27 PM PDT

I am using this airpump and 2 extendable sponge filters, my tank will be heavily planted especially with water lettuce im just concerned about bio film sitting on my water, i might just buy an extra pump and sponge filter.

Leaving shrimp for a week

Posted: 29 Apr 2019 02:57 PM PDT

I have a 2.5 gal shrimp tank with ~13 shrimp currently and lots of plants. Over the summer, I'll be leaving the tank in my house for about 1 week give or take a couple hours. The house will be kept at about 75 F or lower . Would it be alright to leave the tank alone, or should I try to find people to 'sit' the tank?
