Bit of a predicament

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:43 PM PDT

Earlier on today I went to go pick up some cherry shrimp. I got some good looking shrimp but I noticed something was off in the tank that they were in. Some of them had these little yellow things hanging down from where the eggs usually are. I pointed it out to the person and he said they were "smaller" eggs. I did a little bit of research and it turns out that the shrimp had something called ellobiopsidae. I know it's a 100% match because I happened to get three shrimps with the parasite. Just my luck. One of them is really infected while the other two not so much. I dont have experience with this so what should I do?

Witnessed Ghost Shrimp eating Molt off live Neocaradina

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:26 PM PDT

I don't have any photos of it, but I think it was a really unique and experience.

I was staring and scanning my shrimp tank when I noticed one of my ghost shrimp seemed to be eating one of my neocaradinas, the head was off and the shrimp was lifeless. I at first couldn't believe it, because I did not see the dead shrimp before and no way it could have happened this quickly. The neocaradina's head nearly decapitated with a hungry ghost shrimp chomping away. Seconds later the neocaradina seemed to burst free away from the eating ghost shrimp, it seemed as if the neocaradina was molting and a ghost shrimp caught it mid molt.

The first thing that came to my mind was how a lizard loses its tail when being threatened. I thought that was interesting to share and something you don't see everyday.

Can anyone explain why the adult shrimp just knocked the baby shrimp away?

Female RCS Berried and saddled?

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 11:15 PM PDT

I've read that this means the eggs should Hatch's soon if this happens. Is this true? Because she's only been berried for a week and a half so I find it unlikely that the eggs would hatch anytime soon.

Is it true that a saddled berried mama means babies very soon?
