Here is the place to post questions about pest ID, coral/fish ID, your cycle, or any other questions that generally wouldn't start up a conversation. If you have an interesting or unique question please create a new thread so everyone can discuss it in length!

These are some great resources for ID's of pests/algae.

Petco has 30% off all marine fish until 4/21 in store

Posted: 19 Apr 2019 07:36 PM PDT

I know not everyone thinks petco is the best but as long as you follow the proper buying steps you should follow at all fish stores you should be okay.

-always make sure the fish is eating

-if the fish has any torn fins or not acting right, don't buy

-always quarantine your new fish no matter if you get them from petco or if you get them from the cleanest LFS possible

DIY Reef-Pi

Anyone used a DIY Reef-Pi aquarium controller https://reef-pi.github.io I love how flexible it looks but interested in others experience. I decided I shouldn't spend $700+ on a full Neptune system.

Clown trying to pair?

Posted: 19 Apr 2019 07:32 PM PDT

I have had these two Black storm clowns for about 2 and a half months now in my 24g AIO. Clowns are the only fish I have in there with only snails and small hermit crabs. They were relatively the same size when I got them but tnow there is a noticeable size difference. So no problems until about 3 days ago when I noticed a fin was slightly torn on one side of the smaller clown. I noticed the little fights were more present now but not that much more aggressive. The smaller one, and the bigger one will instigate the fights randomly and I have seen both do the little twitch and submit to one another. My question is I have a little acrylic isolation chamber should I put the bigger one in and let the smaller heal up inside the display? Or would that be interfering with their sexing ritual?

Please help! New to hobby, Can someone tell me what these little fern things are? They are growing all over my tank. They look neat, but I’m worried it could be a bad pest.
