Saltwater fish in Seattle area?

Posted: 21 Apr 2019 07:28 PM PDT

Hello, I usually buy fish, corals, crabs, and shrimp from a place in California for great prices because I own a business I get them at cost. But I hate having the fish in those bags for so long, having to drive to the airport, than worrying they might die in transit from all the stress. I am wondering if there might be a place in the Seattle Wa area that sells them around the same price. I tried googling it, but it just gave me fish stores that sell at a mark up value. Thanks for any info. Have a wonderful day fish lovers.

Saltwater/Coral Lighting

Posted: 21 Apr 2019 11:11 PM PDT

Would love some advice on the correct lighting that will be good for corals down the road so I'm not buying two lights. Also do you think fluvals and biocube lighting is good for coral or no?

Those of you in active seismic areas, how do you protect your tank from earthquakes?

Posted: 21 Apr 2019 03:26 PM PDT

I am a new resident in California. I had a reef tank about 6 years ago and loved it. I would love to start again but I'm worried about earthquakes breaking my tank. What precautions or strategies have other earthquake prone reefers taken?

Bio-reactor vs protein skimmer: help a new guy out

Posted: 21 Apr 2019 06:24 PM PDT

During some research, I stumbled across a bio-reactor DIY (courtesy of The King of DIY). The reactor feeds the bacteria carbon and helps remove the nitrogenous wastes but the skimmer removes and exports them into I assume the collection cup as foam. Would it be ideal to run both in a sump, one or the other? I also saw his video on a saltwater sump. Could I use a 10 gallon as a sump or would a 20 be the best bet? (I got the 10 for free). Any advice and wisdom is greatly appreciated.
