Made some adjustments to the 60S. Waiting on some of the background and emergent growth to fill in!

ADA 60P High Tech Set Up. Still has a lot of growing in after removing the glosso carpet and replacing with Monte Carlo, also have a few algae issues as well that I'm trying to sort out. It's not the most complex scape but I like it.

Green spot algae on anubias. Any tips? I’m worried it will prevent the plant from getting enough light.

Dwarf Sag. vs Monte Carlo vs DGH

NOOBIE ALERT

Hi everyone,

I am new to the community trying to start a planted tank. I currently have dwarf hair grass (dgh) but theyre not spreading, nor growing taller, nor dying. Any tips?

I have a Fluval Spec 3 gal, Nicrew LED lights, no chemicals except Seachem Prime for water.

Secondly, what plant is easier for foreground plants? Monte carlo, dwarf sag, or dwarf hair grass?

Is this grow light overkill?

Posted: 21 Apr 2019 06:46 PM PDT

Hey all,

I'm starting my first tank (bough this tank) and I already have 2 of these lights from my indoor growing setup.

Can I use one of them for my tank too, or would they be overkill and actually damage the plants? Also, I don't plant to have anything other than fish for a while, so just plants for this question.

And I've seen a lot of people suggest this light, but I'd rather not have to buy something else:

Thanks for the help!

Not sure about my soil or what my cap should be

Posted: 21 Apr 2019 05:37 PM PDT

I bought this soil but now I'm not sure if it's ok https://imgur.com/a/TmyUI7G I also can't decide if my cap should be gravel or sand. I have natural colored gravel in small and large diameter, sand I would pick a dark color prob black cause I can't stand seeing fish waste on the gravel. What do you guys use for a cap and how do you like it?
