- Swim Bladder issue
- Just rescued a goldfish who’s water hadn’t been changed in three years/was directed to come here!
- Whats wrong with him?
- Considering a goldfish (fancy, maybe calico) but not if I can’t do it properly.
- Have done 2 ick treatments and still has white marks on fins and body. Any help identifying what this is so I can treat it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
- How big of a tank should I have for five small goldfish? And how big do they usually get?
- Tail fin turning white ? I have no idea why his tail is turning white ! He just recovered from a bacterial infection from his head, but his tail is not getting better. Any recommendations or know what is wrong with him?
- Black Moor eye color change?

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 08:05 PM PDT I've had my goldfish for 7 years. I've only ever had one die and I've never had one be sick until recently. They were garden pond dwellers until we moved a few years ago and I refused to leave them behind. They have been living in a 75 gallon tank until we can get a new pond installed. Ammonia is consistently ZERO as is Nitrite. Nitrates hover around 5 to 10 ppm and I'm a slave to water changes. We found a great deal on a really big pond back around Christmas and have been waiting for warm weather to install it. A few months ago one of them was swimming funny. I thought he was dying so I moved him into a quarantine tank. He pooped A LOT and then seemed fine. My husband joked that he was only constipated and in a few hours we moved him back home. Well, he started doing it again tonight. My husband joked about him liking privacy to poop now, but I thought it best to put him back into the quarantine tank while I researched what might be going on. I decided to google goldfish diseases and discovered swim bladder disease. I'm going to keep him in quarantine and feed him peas after a few day of NPO. It is our intention to put all these guys into the new garden pond we are installing this week while I'm off work for Spring Break. Will it be okay to put him into the pond after he's recovered or should he forever be an indoor fish? [link] [comments]
Just rescued a goldfish who’s water hadn’t been changed in three years/was directed to come here! Posted: 13 Apr 2019 02:05 PM PDT A few days ago I rescued a goldfish from people who were severely neglecting it. /r/BeforeNAfterAdoption/comments/bbse9f/his_water_hadnt_been_changed_in_three_years_why/ I've started collecting things and making lists of things to get, including a 20 gallon tank and a filter (there is none in the tank currently ugh). Right now I just had to clean out when I got him as a quick fix and got him some new gravel and a plant to swim around. I feel so bad for the little guy! Any advice or tips for getting him adjusted to a new home? I have been reading the wiki as well. I've had Bettas before and small fish like danios and platys and it's been years but never a goldfish because I knew they needed big tanks. The other fish that were with him had died (no surprise given the conditions). [link] [comments]

Considering a goldfish (fancy, maybe calico) but not if I can’t do it properly. Posted: 13 Apr 2019 05:35 PM PDT I have a 40 breeder which has been set up for about a year. It holds six rummynose tetras and ten panda cories. It's planted with Anubias and Java Fern, as well as some assorted mosses. Sand substrate. I run two Aquaclear 40's on it at the same time. Typically I do a water change every 5 days. It's a cold water tank, so I have no centerpiece. I've always wanted a goldfish or two, but I am well aware that they get massive and I dont like getting animals I can't care for. Would this tank be suitable? If not, I'll try for a different centerpiece. I don't want my pandas being harassed because they're old and mean a lot to me, but because it is so planted they spend a lot of time out of sight anyway. What do you think? [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Apr 2019 04:46 AM PDT I'm trying to figure out if my black moor is starting to get cloudy eyes or if it's just a color change. Can Goldfishes eyes change color as they age? The cloudiness/whiteness is around the edges inside the lens. Her tail is changing color so that is something to note. It's going from Black to White. [link] [comments] |
