If you don't know Jeff he raises beautiful ranchu with traditional Japanese methods, should be a good talk.

RIP My fish. Lived 5 years with swim bladder issue.

I have 3 fish in my 10 gallon tank. Today, one of my fish sadly died. He had swim bladder issues from the start as far as i know. Im almost positive its a fancy goldfish but tbh i don't know what he was.
The only image i can find of him. buried him in my backyard :(

RIP buddy

My other 2 fish looked for him and now sit together

:(

Tap water smells astringent.

Posted: 16 Apr 2019 02:49 PM PDT

Hi! So, it's water change day on my 75 gallon. I usually do a 50% once per week. Well, since last night I have noticed that our tap water smells astringent. Like chlorine or maybe even something else. It's strong.

So, short of using my test kit to make sure it is not spiked with ammonia, is there anything else I should do to protect my fish? Just wait a few days? My fish have had a strict weekly schedule since I have had them. I use Safe, of course, but the pungent smell worries me.My changing gear is a python and aging water isn't really the first option i would like to take, as I have no real space to let the water age without a kid knocking it over, etc.

I'd love to know what you guys would do. Thanks!
