How long can a female retain sperm for? Posted: 26 Apr 2019 05:35 PM PDT What up Crayfish! I have a female blue crayfish that has just started nursing some eggs. The thing is, it's last sex was like a month or two back and the male died at about the same time period. So I'm not sure if the eggs are good or not. Is there a way to tell? The eggs look pit black at the moment. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Apr 2019 12:56 PM PDT My partner has a Mexican dwarf cray, undetermined age but we've had him for maybe 2 months, maybe going on 3 now. He molted once maybe a week after we got him. She's not very versed in crayfish and saw him at the back of the tank on his side so assumed he was dead. She took him out and offered him to me to feed to my crayfish (sorry if thats a bit morbid, i have an electric blue who is in his own tank in my room.) Anyways I assumed he was dead regardless bc she pulled him out, but as i held him I swear he flicked his tail? I got him immediately back into water in a safe place away from his fish tankmates. He was out for maybe 2 minutes tops if that? There's no movement so far and I can't tell if he's just in molt, if so I think it must be the beginning. Is there a chance he can survive even if he was handled? [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to integrate a baby crayfish into a 20 Long tank with a year old crayfish? Posted: 26 Apr 2019 08:20 AM PDT I currently have a year old male Electric Blue Crayfish and I own a 20 Long tank. I'd like to introduce another crayfish to the tank and I've researched it online but there isn't a clear consensus online as far as I can tell. Some people claim that the bigger ones eat the smaller ones, others claim that they'll get along fine. My local store has Electric Blue Crayfish in stock right now as well as a white one. I'd like to introduce the white one but if I need to stay in the same species then I wouldnt mind another Blue. Do any of you have experience with this? I think it's time my Cray had some company besides shrimp/fish but the last thing I want to do is just get a baby crayfish killed by feeding him to my grown crayfish. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
