Anyone have some safe lighting suggestions for night viewing? Posted: 14 Apr 2019 06:35 AM PDT I have a female Blue Crayfish and I'm still new to taking care of them but I'm enjoying it so far. She molted for the first time which was a relief since I was so worried she hadn't eaten in days. Now she seems active again. She is so beautiful and she really comes alive during her nocturnal hours. I just want to see more of her without making her feel scared. If I have the room light on she doesn't feel safe enough yet to carry on with her exploring (hopefully this will change with time). So I just wanted to ask what lighting options I could have for her tank so that I can see her better without her being scared of the light. I have heard that crayfish can't see red light so would a red LED be okay? Or to make her shine a blue LED would be cool but not if she won't like that light. Would even just a dim white light be better so she would still feel shadowed? [link] [comments] |
