- Cherax identification. Caught this yesterday, Mornington VIC Australia. Doesn't look like your everyday cherax destructor. Females and juveniles have same colouring with brown to yellow legs. Any help would be appreciated. Thx

What is this white substance on the tail of my crayfish? Posted: 15 Apr 2019 05:06 PM PDT Here's a picture. It's a little blurry, but hopefully it gets the point across. My cray is a native, wild-caught faxonius virilis (virile crayfish) that I've had for nearly a year now. I noticed this white build-up on its tail months ago that seems to be slowly spreading. It's only visible on the underside of the tail and can't be seen from the top. When the crayfish molts the build-up leaves along with the old shell, but starts accumulating again sometime afterwards. What is this? Anything to worry about? [link] [comments] | ||
