Unattended tank for years still has ramshorn snails?

I got a tank about two years ago and put in a mystery snail and a ramshorn before getting a betta fish for the tank, and I knew nothing about them. After the betta passed, I thought nothing was left in the tank so I just left it alone. I turned off the bubbler, there's a TON of live plants in the tank, and it turns out there are also a ton of Ramshorns. I have not changed the filter in over a year, have not cleaned the tank, or done anything to it. I didn't even have the light on. But there are a ton of snails in there. Most are small but definitely not babies. What do I do? The tank is obviously gross and dirty and I just wasn't aware they had multiplied before the first ramshorn passed.

First time snail owner/ snail’s first day home. Can anyone identify what is up/ what the mass is that my snail is handling? It seems to be something reproductive? Any advice or reassurance would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had Hamshorn but became way too overwhelmed so I had to give them away to my coworker who loves snails. Which snail would be ok being solo, won't reproduce by itself, and can coexist with my Thomas (a halfmoon Betta)? Any help is much appreciated 🙏🏽
