Posted: 18 Apr 2019 08:39 PM PDT I recently got a mystery snail for the first time to live with my betta and help keep algae down. I've had it for about a week and it has been floating the entire time. If I hold it against light, it looks like there's a HUGE air bubble in his shell. When I hold it near the tank wall it'll grab on, but it looks very strained to stay attached like its shell is trying to drag it to the top of the water, and eventually it lets go and floats again. I've tried holding it upside down, rotating it, tapping its shell, leaving it near plants at the top of the water so it can work the air out itself and it feels like nothing is getting better. It seems like my snail is just kinda... stuck bobbing at surface level. Which seems weird to me because when I picked it up at the aquatic shop, it was happily cruising around the bottom of its tank there. My water parameters are fine, I have a full testing kit and the numbers are all within the correct range. Temperature is always between 72 and 75. Should I be worried? Is my snail going to die?
