Shrimp Tank - Aquariums - I posted an image of these guys a while ago, trying to find out their ID. Ended up being Xiphocaris elongata, a shrimp that’ll be pretty chill as long as it’s got enough leafy detritus to eat. If I make a tank with local wildlife in the future, some will definitely be included.

My RCS shrimps had babies and the shrimplets all look like this after about a month. Would this still be considered a "red" cherry shrimp? O.O will they develop more red later? It looks like an orange shrimp to me.

My water turner cloudy after adding cholla wood. And all worms are coming out. Ive been water changing like 2x a day now. Is this bad? Should I remove the wood?

My shrimp like gathering on my fingers while I’m cleaning the tank

Bloody Mary has been frantically running around the perimeter of the tank all day. Highly unusual. Looking for a mate? Pregnant? I'm confused.

Cherry barbs and cherry shrimp?

Posted: 26 Mar 2019 03:25 PM PDT

I have a 40 gallon tank w/ a 20 gallon sump that I plan on using for my shrimp. My other tank (37G) has Cherry barbs. They bred and there is simply too many barbs in there now. I would sell them, but to be honest, I don't trust that anyone will actually take care of them properly. Additionally, they're almost a year old so that's not really a good age to sell them at. If I moved the barbs to this new aquarium, would the barbs and shrimp get along

starting up a shrimp tank

Posted: 26 Mar 2019 07:24 AM PDT

hey all

I'll be setting up a shrimp tank in a 10L tank (aquaone betta fish tank). I was going to remove the filter & heater from the original set-up and buy another one because the og one takes up too much space.

What do I need for a shrimp tank? I'm aiming on it being (hopefully) heavily planted & with a sand substrate if possible. I'm talking plants, what type of plants would go best with red cherry shrimp etc.

What are the best foods for the little guys?

All those types of questions.

Any pointers/tips/criticisms are appreciated, thanks!

I just got a pregnant Ghost Shrimp, and I'm housing her as well as 3 males in a 10g betta tank. Any special care for her? And will my betta eat the eggs?

What is the best way to test TDS and how do you change it?

Posted: 26 Mar 2019 07:48 AM PDT

After losing my first group of shrimp I started to do more research into keeping them and discovered that I haven't done anything about GH, KH, TDS. In addition, are there any good products for raising GH as well?

Edit: I use tap water
