Quick question about blue velvet.

Does blue velvet spawn black shrimp?

For some reason my blue velvets have a really dark shrimp. Its completely black. Is that better or its a cull?

Amano shrimp questions

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 04:49 PM PDT

I'm trying to fight off some algae and my ghost shrimp aren't really helping and the snails won't eat it.

1.Are Amanos good at eating algae?

Secondly my tank has coral platies, dwarf gouramis, neon tetras and ghost shrimps.

  1. Will any of them eat my amanos. They don't eat my ghosts but ghosts are big and am not sure on the size of amanos

Some Advice

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 08:19 PM PDT

Hey,

I have been reading a lot of the posts, and you all seem to be super helpful! I have recently been thinking about starting to breed shrimp. Does anyone have any tips or advice for which shrimp or generally how to keep them? P.s. of course I'll do research as well

Thanks!

How do I make a great tank for my cherry shrimps?

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 08:15 AM PDT

I am thinking about getting some cherry shrimp and I would need to get everything for them as I'm a beginner when it comes to fish tanks and stuff. So What items/things would I need to make a suitable 5 gallon tank for them? Edit: What things do I need to do to care for them?

I am getting cherry shrimp soon for my 10gal tank. Any suggestions as to how many i should get or anything to improve their lives? I currently have some nice plants with algae on and a nice hiding spot.

My fish keep eating themselves to death on baby cherry shrimp. Help!

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 06:46 AM PDT

I have a 10 gallon community tank that has cherry shrimp in it, and I've now lost 3 fish in the last month to intestinal blockages from eating too many baby cherry shrimp.

I love the color my shrimp add to the tank and their antics are wonderful, but I need to figure out a way to keep them safe, especially as babies. I currently have a tennis ball sized bit of java moss and 10 clumps of dwarf sag, but that doesn't seem to be enough for them. Any thoughts on a visually appealing cover option? Am I barking up the wrong tree in thinking I need more cover?

Neocaridina davidi - Carbon Rili - What to do when one dies

Posted: 28 Mar 2019 07:51 AM PDT

I found a dead one this morning. Should I leave it for the others to eat or take it out? Tank is all shrimp & snails, except 1 kuhli loach that I put in before realizing he was probably going to eat them. Im working on getting him out sometime soon.
