Help?

I posted once here about what to do with this 5 gal tank on the photo. As you can see it is doing pretty well. Plants need trimming every 2 weeks, guppies multiply like crazy. I saw 4 births already in here and females are pregnant again now. Also my plan to have it without any tech went pretty well. I had little problem with cyanohacteria at one moment but few days without light helped solving this problem. Water is clear and doesn't get dirty at all. Only one letdown for me are red cherry shrimps. I've bought 4 and only 2 of them are alive today. I saw both females carrying eggs but never saw any shrimpets. I heard that guppies may be eating shrimpets :(

What I want to do with this tank is some kind of change. I didn't do it the way I wanted in the beginning. I wanted to have it heavly planted with cute little lawn in the foreground. Unfortunately my local shops don't sell any little plants that I could use. Also because of my limited student budget I bought any plants that was just light green enough, and I don't even know their names XD Guppies are cool but fry doesn't grow as fast as I thought it will so I could move them to tank with my turtle.

My current idea is to get rid of guppies and move them to turtle's tank. Move shrimp duo to 1 gallon tank and to this main 5 gallon I would buy a Betta. Also Betta would take care of overgmwing snail population.

What do you think guys? Any other ideas?
