My electric blue likes to lay on his side. Is this normal? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:33 PM PST Hi all, I'm a first time crayfish guardian. I've had my dude, Cowboy, for about a month now. He's incredibly shy and likes to hide in the corner of the tank under a log surrounded by plants. He will wedge himself between the glass and the log with his back facing the glass and just lay there. Hes been doing this on and off since I got him. I've read that he could be in the early stages of molting or is not in an adequate environment. I've also read that's how they "sleep". Ive asked the fish store where I got him if they have experienced this behaviour and they said they haven't. He eats fine and is growing rapidly and moves around the tank once the lights are off. My setup is a 40 gallon with him plus 15 rasboras and dwarf rainbows and potentially 4 cherry shrimp if they haven't been eaten. Water temp is 75F, pH is 7.5 and I have an air stone that spans half of the length of the tank. Thanks for any advice! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:03 AM PST I have a blue crayfish and I am wondering if it will be fine without an air pump. Will it drown? The level of the water is just about an inch and I made a pebble beach-like area where it can go to if it wants to get out of water. [link] [comments] |
