Question About Fuzz on Crayfish's Carapace?

Heyo, fellow crayfish enthusiasts! Just a little introduction – this is my electric blue crayfish, Mr. Mudbug! He has one hell of a backstory. To put it shortly, I've had him for about half a year now. A friend of mine found him on the side of the road, being harassed by a group of kids who were poking and hitting him with sticks. Fortunately, she stopped them from doing any further damage and took him in. She learned that I'm a pretty big nerd for crayfish and asked if I would like to keep him. He's gone a long way since then – the injuries he's sustained from that incident have gone away, he's tripled in size, and he's become a lot more extroverted and friendly! While he's behaving normally, I'm a bit worried about a recent development.

Over these past few days, I've noticed that there is a fluffy, greenish-brown substance growing primarily on Mudbug's carapace, although there is a bit making its way down the abdomen as well (pictures attached to the post). I've never seen this on him or other crays I've owned in the past. Should I be worried? Does it look like a fungal/bacterial infection or algae? Or is this entirely normal and I'm just overthinking it?
Thanks in advance for all the help, I appreciate it! :)
