Newbie. Needing guidance on how to best take care of an axolotl. Posted: 16 Jan 2019 12:05 AM PST Hi, I haven't got one yet but i'm looking into it. I have been doing a bit of research online but I'm afraid of getting misinformed. I really want to make sure I provide the best environment for my future friend. Basically my biggest concerns revolve around fake vs real plants and rocks and water temperature. I live in a tropical climate and cannot ensure that the room temperature will stay below 24 degrees celcius, can tank temperature regulators be bought? [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 06:22 PM PST I adopted an axolotl about a week and a half ago. I estimate she is about 3 months old. 2 or 3 days ago, her gills started to curve forward. Her tank is at a good temperature, I'm using dechlorinated water with a ph of about 7.6. The Nitrites and Nitrates are at 0, however the ammonia is at around .5. I've been doing 20-30% water changes daily to try to lower it. Should I be doing more? I also gave her a few pellets for dinner (about 3), and she looked like she had diarrhea. (The curving started before this, though) Is this common? She is used to worms. Please help. :( [link] [comments]
