| Bog filter at the end of the system? Posted: 01 Jun 2022 11:23 AM PDT Hi folks, I have been planning my pond for quite a while, and a question for those with more experience. For reference I wan to built a circuit that goes Bottom Drain-->Sieve-->pump-->K+ Advanced filter-->raised Bog/Aquaponics What I heard is that a Bog filter get quite dirty after a time, but I heard of it on Bog filter as standalone filter for a pond. With the system I have on mind I wouldn't expect a build-up of mulm on it, only quality water into some substrate with plant. Most likely it will require service once in a while, but I wouldn't expect to be as terrible as some people talk about bogs. Or would you think I'm a little bit deluded in my thinking? Also for me aquaponics sounds interesting, but I want to make the bog to make it primarily something with nice plants to look at, instead of only food plants. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 31 May 2022 01:09 PM PDT I inherited a pond some months ago and all is going great. I did however pull out a pvc pipe structure they had in the pond to clean the string algae off of it. It was the only type of underwater structure in the pond. My question is: is this sort of structure necessary for the fish and do they even like it? Or, should i just leave the entire area open? TIA [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 31 May 2022 01:46 PM PDT My koi have been flashing for awhile now, and I just moved them outside and they seemed really happy, but they keep flashing, I don't think it's an ammonia problem, they don't have trouble eating at all. I'm not for sure what it could be, any suggestions and how to diagnose and solve? [link] [comments] | ||
| Help! My koi has black spots that just appeared Posted: 31 May 2022 12:07 PM PDT I recently acquired a koi pond with 3 fish. Today I noticed a bunch of black dots on of the fish, like under the skin. What's going on? [link] [comments] |
