30th May, 2pm scrub algae on stone with tooth brush, 230pm change 1/3 water. 3pm shrimp move aggressivly and jumping around. i manage tk save 10 shrimp, but 90 shrimps died. i believe its ammonia spike. how long do i need to wait before i can put shrimp back?

I have these tiny little moving dot things on the glass of my shrimp / snail tank? Are they baby shrimp or snails? I have lots of baby shrimp that I can see so im wondering if maybe thats how small they start out.

opinion on sparkling gouramis with shrimp?

I have a 15gal planted, but not too heavily yet (no full ground cover). I have 6 cardinal tetras atm, probably will get more for a school. I currently also have guppies I'm trying to rehome with no luck yet. I have 1 RCS and currently two wild types that came in on plants that I may move when they're older. I planned on putting various closely related red and blue shrimp in, to hopefully breed. I'd love red and blue rilis but doubt I'll get that far. I considered putting in a dwarf crayfish too.

I was really hoping to find a good centerpiece fish, ideally something that fit with the red/blue colour scheme. the ones I've considered so far would interfere with shrimp. I thought sparkling gouramis would be fine but apparently they eat shrimp, too. (I know all fish will eat the young ones, but I'd hope to have at least most of them surviving and anything that eats the adults is out).

does anyone have experience with this? I might not even have room for a centerpiece fish at this point, I think I'm getting close to overstocking. I wouldn't mind removing the crayfish though. suggestions would be appreciated, especially if you have an idea for a different fish that would work

Why do my shrimp ignore the food I give them?

I've tried: - shrimp lollies - alder cone pre-soaked until coated in biofilm slime half a cm thick - spirulina algae tablets

Each time, maybe 2 or 3 shrimps will wander over after 30 minutes or so, but the others just continue grazing elsewhere in the tank. Is that normal?
