I hope it is ok to post this! I recently started learning color pencil and one of the first things I had to draw - a beloved oranda goldfish! I love drawing scales!!! About to start a second picture :)

The Boys have had their weekly water change

Finished the rest of my netting setup on top of my 125 gal goldfish tank that I posted last week and added a background to the tank using a cheap tapestry. Worked out great!

Responsible way to put a goldfish down?

Posted: 29 May 2022 09:57 PM PDT

Hes sick, not eating, and Im not paying for a vet visit. I've tried to give him a good home- I got him from a carnival. He has all the sick fish signs and I just think it would be cruel to make him cary on. What do I do?

My beloved goldfish is dying from a new tank

Posted: 29 May 2022 10:25 AM PDT

Hey guys, I am very desperately needing some help. Recently I moved my (I believe comet) goldfish to a new tank. I've had them almost three years. He has been living in a 2 gallon tank that whole time, and although it was depressing he was doing generally well from what I could tell. I finally upgraded to a 38 gallon tank, set up a filter, substrate, got a pH meter, a thermometer, a light, the whole thing. I tested the pH and temperature before adding them, pH was around 7.3 and temp was and still is around 72 F. The first day they were a hyper and seemed fine, next day sitting on bottom of tank barely keeping itself above the substrate floating. Refused to eat. Next day hanging around the top of tank but swimming slow and using one fin mostly, still won't eat. Now this morning I noticed they may have tail rot, their tail is falling apart and they have some white film on their eyes, swimming very oddly with head down for the most part, won't eat, generally sluggish. I don't know what's wrong besides my pH meter testing at about 8.4, but I don't trust it much. I bought antibiotics and a full water testing kit from amazon, currently waiting for it to arrive. Should I take them to a vet tomorrow? I'm very worried. Thanks

Odd Lumps coming out from under the scales with one poking out. Other lumps can be seen behind its head. Sorry for poor image, I don't have a good camera.

It all started with a couple of telescopes; the now orange beast, Buffalo Bill with too much gel in his/her mouth and Albert Fish the weirdo who poos a lot. Like, a lot. Just an appreciation post.

Weird Yellow Spots on White Ranchu

Posted: 29 May 2022 11:50 AM PDT

I've noticed my red cap ranchu has been forming these yellow spots on her scales. It doesn't look like a bacterial infection, but I could be wrong. Has anyone had this happen before? She is in my hospital tank with aquarium salt. Thanks for your input!

Fish possibly choking. Will they be okay?

Posted: 29 May 2022 08:11 AM PDT

Fed my goldies some peas as per instructions here. I used the hot water method. Just gave em a soak, shelled then halved and halved again. All three of the fish seem to keep coughing their pieces back up though, only to swallow them and start it all over again. Are they choking? Will the peas gradually soften up more in the water?
