- Loxi… just hanging around
- Look at those gills 🤩 I think I have lions 🦁
- Sick axolotl, please help. Possible fungus. I already posted once, but I didn’t know if pics would help. Currently doing tea baths and deep cleaning tank. This is not my pet, he lives at my job.
- Switched them to this hospital tank about a week ago they're doing much better, no more fungus. On the other hand the main tanks doing it's new cycle. Got a few guppies and danios in there that seem to be doing just fine but I'm surprised cuz the ammonia is so high. How's this cycle coming along?
- I didn’t realize the worms had a neon dye on them until after my Ax ate one. Has anyone had bad reactions from these.
- Advice needed. We have an axolotl that has 3 of her 4 legs off the ground lately and looks like they are ‘bent back’ and she isn’t using them. Could this be stress, injury or a calcium deficiency? The closest axolotl vet is 2 1/2 hours away.
- sick axolotl help needed I put him in backup tank cause he was sick and I do 90% water changes daily but it looks like he is getting worst he keeps trying to eat water and acts like he has a worm in his mouth and he flaps is gill things so often and so fast now
- Do vets have a medicine that increases an axolotls appetite?
- Air stones/pumps
- I was at a LFS and saw a very very sad sight. I couldnt believe how they housing these little guys. The staff was aware of the issues, but the boss wants it how he wants it. If I didn't already have one tub lotl while the tank cycles, I would have come home with a couple new friends.
- Steve’s lump…. Tore?
- My ammonia level has been .25 ppm for months
- HELP
- Sick axolotl - help please!!
- Greetings, new person here, i am planning on getting my first axolotl very soon and im just asking what are the living requirements for a axolotl?
- Hi everyone! Does anyone know if there’s any Polynesian tattoos representing Axolotls?

| Do vets have a medicine that increases an axolotls appetite? Posted: 31 May 2022 08:56 PM PDT My axolotl hasn't been showing any interest in food and it's been over a month since he has eaten willingly. I recently had to force feed him just to get some nutrition into him. Would taking him to a vet be beneficial or would they just be like he'll eat when he wants? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 31 May 2022 04:50 PM PDT I'm setting up my tank to begin cycling and I was wondering, what kind of air stone and pump does everyone use and do your axolotls seem to like it, hate it, or are indifferent to it? [link] [comments] | ||

| My ammonia level has been .25 ppm for months Posted: 31 May 2022 06:30 PM PDT Long story short. Bought my son an Axolotl in December for his birthday. We all love him greatly. He was 4.25" when we brought him home, he is 9" now. He is beautiful, plump and has big fluffy floofs. He is very friendly and always comes to the glass to visit, he loves to rest his chin while doing so on the bubble bar and let the bubbles roll over his face. His parameters are: Ammonia .25ppm Nitrite 0ppm Nitrate 5ppm PH 7.6 My issue is the ammonia at .25ppm as it has been like that since December. Our tap water is community and is .25ppm on a good day. I have a rental property that has a well, ammonia .25ppm Resulting even a water change won't reduce it. My test kit is API with the glass viles not strips. Could the ammonia test be faulty? What to do? I am at wits end. If he gets sick and dies will be devastating for my son. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 31 May 2022 06:27 PM PDT my axolotl has been acting weird for the past week, she's now refusing to eat and has gotten pale very suddenly. her gills are curled and they aren't as fluffy as they were. no obvious fungus found on her gills. we checked all of the water levels and her tank is perfect. she's been fed a variety of worms. the axolotl breeder recommended blood worms, red wigglers, etc. mostly live worms. some frozen worms. is that my problem? what do you feed yours? if not, i'm definitely taking her to the vet to get this figured out. also, we got her last September and the breeder never gave us an age. | Posted: 31 May 2022 06:14 PM PDT At my job, we have an albino axolotl named Pablo. Pablo has a lot going on. 1) Slimy, white, thick film covering all of the surfaces of his tank. Possible fungal infection? If so, how do I fix?? 2) His gills look extremely irritated and just overall bad. How can I provide relief and fix it? Also, there is something black in/on his mouth?? 3) Not as serious (I hope), but is 2 worms a day too much? That's what my coworker feeds him, but I'm a little iffy. Please help! I hate to see him suffer… [link] [comments] | ||
