Getting my axolotl into its new tank after acclimation Posted: 16 Oct 2021 08:25 AM PDT Hi everyone. I'm getting my first axolotl tomorrow and I'm pretty stoked! I'm just a little confused on the method I should use to remove the axolotl from the plastic bag the fish store is going to put it in after acclimation. I have a net, but I've read that nets shouldn't be used on axolotls. I've seen people say that I can just lightly grab it with my hands to place it in my tank, but I've also read that you should avoid touching your axolotl at all costs. And I obviously can't dump the bag in the tank. So I'm just a bit confused on what to do, and I was hoping I could possibly get some clarification! Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 Oct 2021 09:32 AM PDT My axolotl hates water changes so damn much, he doesn't eat for a few days after them! And he sometimes pukes, all my parameters are ok but the Nitrates are kinda high, how should I go about this? I leave him in the tank while I do water changes and just take extra precaution with adding water, but should I remove him from his tank while I do them? [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Oct 2021 10:09 AM PDT i recently adopted an axolotl, and brought him home today. he came in a little plastic bag, like the ones that goldfish come in, so i wanted to get him out quickly. so i placed the bag in his tank for a few minutes, without taking him out, just so he could get used to the temperature. and, since i let him out into his tank, he has found one little hiding spot behind his cave, and has not moved from there since. is this normal since he's adapting to a new environment? Traveling overseas with an axolotl? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 04:04 AM PDT Hello I am currently in Japan, does anybody know if I can fly with my axolotl as a carry-on in the plane? I'll be going to a state that allows them. Has anybody done this before? I am worried because this will be a long flight but I'll be sad to give away my baby [link] [comments]
