Micro Aquatics Too many guppies for neon tetras?

Too many guppies for neon tetras?

Hello! I'm new to the hobby (currently have a few walstad 1 gallon jars with snails) and recently became the adoptive parent of a 15 gallon heavily planted tank with guppies and neons. Despite the stress they surely endured from the physical move and a much larger water change than they were previously used to (had to remove like 80% to transport the tank), the guppies are doing great and are really responsive to food or even when I just walk by the tank. I'm a little bit worried about the tetras though. There must be over 30 guppies of varying sizes in this tank (this is an actively breeding group, and at least two females are currently pregnant) and only 4 tetras. While I haven't seen any aggressive behaviour from the guppies, the tetras aren't moving around much at all and tend to stay in the lower ⅓ of the tank, usually amongst the plants. They don't even come up during feeding, but I have seen them pick up flakes that fall through and there's a good bit of algae so I hope they're not malnourished. I'm wondering if this is just normal behaviour for tetras (Do they not like being near the top of tanks? Are they more shy than guppies? Do they need a few more days to recover from stress?) or if they're overwhelmed by the sheer number of guppies? I read online that schooling fish like to be in packs of 6 or more, would getting them more tetra friends do the trick?

'Rear Canopy Cover' for Fluval flex (and/or DIY alternatives that are good fit for a Noob)? Sorry for the specificity!

Hi friends,

You can buy a "rear canopy cover" (e.g. for the section at the back) for the 32G fluval flex, but nothing 'official' for the 15G (e.g. if you wanted to hang a light above the tank rather than have a lid).

I have since learned that there is a bit of a community for 3-D printed tank modifications... but I haven't found this hypothetical product there either.

I was wondering, in the one-in-a-million chance that the right person sees this (and, if the product does indeed exist on the internet somewhere), they might point me in the right direction? And/or let me know what they did as a DIY alternative?

Thanks!
