- I saw Rocky on Reddit a few weeks back and knew I had to draw her! I wish goldfish were more appreciated in the art world. They're so much fun to create. :)
- This new friend was labeled as $30 but somehow cost me $600. Worth it.

| Posted: 04 Jun 2021 11:30 PM PDT I was looking at my two goldfish today and noticed some pineconing near the face of my black moore. This had to have occurred within 6 hours, when I left for work there was no pineconing. She is acting completely normal and isn't showing any signs of stress. She is still eating and pooping normally as well. Her tankmate seems completely fine. My water parameters are 0 ppm NH, 0 ppm NO2 and below 5 ppm NO3 and temp has been stable a 70 degrees F. I keep them in a 40 gallon breeder tank currently with two filters running and do weekly water changes. Theres also an airstone and some decorations. They are about 1.5 years old now, isn't that too young for dropsy? Their previous owners had them in a pretty small tank about 5-7 gallons if I remember correctly, but I think I have had them long enough now that it wouldn't really affect them too much. They were in a 20 gallon holding tank when I took them in, but I upgraded them to a 40, 3 months ago. Should I start treating her for dropsy? Could this be something else? [link] [comments] | ||

| Fish food question? Flakes VS Pellets Posted: 04 Jun 2021 03:01 PM PDT Hi! New to the thread. I have two fish, they are almost 4 now. I have no issues - just noticed there are other pellet type food in the pet shop as well as flakes. They've always had flakes but I just brought some of the pellets too. Just wondering what everyone would recommend feeding their goldfish? Which is better? The pellets were significantly more expensive so I'm wondering if these are better? Thanks! Just want whatevers the best diet for my fish :) [link] [comments] | ||

| Bring Fancies From 6.5 ph to 7.9? Posted: 04 Jun 2021 07:31 AM PDT Just spoke with our local boutique pet store and they said they are keeping their fancies at 6.5. I am at 7.9 and had plans to bring it down to 7.5 before bringing them over. Am I losing my mind? 6.5 seems low. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 04 Jun 2021 01:50 AM PDT Background context: My sister has always wanted a pet and managed to convince my mom for a fish. Two dead fish later, we have one fantail goldfish left and it's now pretty much my responsibility. I've grown really attached to this fantail (Tommy) and really want to give him the best life possible. Since I began getting attached to him, I've been researching more about goldfish and found that the 10 gallon tank + few artificial decorations isn't enough for him. I want to buy a bigger tank for him and make it planted for him. My parents and my sister think that he's perfectly fine and happy (even though he quite literally has ammonia burns right now, which I'm treating) in his small tank and won't believe me when I say that he needs a bigger tank. Anyone out there have any advice for this? How big of a tank should I get? There are many sources, but I believe 20 gallons is the bare minimum. Though I believe that's the biggest I can possibly get since my parents won't let me spend that much money on a fish and I only have an allotted amount of space since I can't think of anywhere else where I can put a fish tank. Recommendations on plants and what should I fill the tank with? Finally: is there any way I can possibly make a 10 gallon or 15 gallon tank work for him? Sorry if these all seem like stupid questions, but I'm trying to gather info so I can help Tommy. [link] [comments] | ||
