| Dont WANT to give up on my blue cray, But might HAVE to Posted: 04 Jun 2021 11:12 AM PDT My blue cray is fine as far as I can tell, just found her shell while cleaning the tank. She doesn't look to have shell rot. And doesn't look much different from the blue crays I see on here, other than she's a bit darker than most. Had her for at least 7 months. Man I've been through hell as a newbie to any sort of aquarium keeping. First it killed my frogs, then I learned that was completely my bad. Then we started its own prison system so it wouldn't kill our pretty fish. Then we got it its own tank with nothing but minnows as tank mates. Oddly enough out of the 8 we put in 1 stayed living for 2 or so months. Anyway, about a month to a month and a half ago its tank started to get cloudy, to a point where you could barely see. And when we would change the water it would stay clear, until a day or so after she was put back in. I told my gf, who's really the one into this stuff (I was trying to find a common interest for us) that im not willing to spend more money on it if every solution we try is a failure. We even got a bigger tank for it. Today we did a water change and instead of using the hose to fill it (which is what we usually do on our 75 which is fine, our 10 salt which is fine, and the 20 which is the problem tank) we used the purified water you can get in jugs to fill it. We still put in dechlorinator, stress coat, and ez balance + without dechlorinator. My plan is to let it run for a day or two before putting the lobster back in. Then hoping its just the water. But if it gets cloudy again the only other constant will be the cray. I dont want to give up on it, but I might have too. According to Google its a bacterial bloom. But I trust people with vast experience with crayfish over the search results of "why is my tank cloudy" [link] [comments] | ||
