Parents don't understand cycling

So, some months ago my parents decided to get me an axolotl as a surprise causing me to be largely unprepared. At this point in time its been about a few months of cycling my tank but my parents are getting impatient and want me to put my axolotl in by this weekend. How do I explain to them that I cant do that until my tank is ready?

So my axolotl eats live black worms he's only 3 months my order for black worms won't be on until tomorrow all I could get my hands on was frozen blood worms. Are these ok to feed him for right now?

I have a 20 gallon tall tank and I'm trying to find a cave that can fit an adult axolotl. I not much of a fan of the pots and diy stuff and I want a roomy cave my axolotl can fit in because my guy has outgrown his little tree.
