Koi staying at bottom of pond and not eating much Posted: 17 Jun 2021 10:15 AM PDT Hi all! I live in Denver and recently purchased a house with a Koi pond. The pervious owners told us very little about pond maintenance so we have had to rely a lot on Google for info. The owners told us how to refill the pond and treat it for chemicals, and to use algicide. Beyond that, we have basically been on our own. For a while the Koi stayed at the top of the pond and looked like they were low on oxygen, so I bought to oxygenators and put them at opposite ends of the pond, which seemed to solve that issue. But now for the past week or so, we haven't seen them much at all. They aren't eating much and stay at the bottom of the pond. We have been getting a heat wave in Denver and I have ready that koi can be temperamental about temperature changes. Could that be it? Or could it possibly be something else? I've read they are more upset by cold weather than heat. Basically I just want to know if I should be worried all or if this is normal! Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated!
