So I had a friend taking care of my fish and when he brought him home he brought him in a little pale of water and completely emptied his 20 - 25 gal tank dont know alot about fish but I try Anyways my fish started floating upside down but he is still alive and so I tried to add water conditioner and fed him peas like I was told to do from the fish guy at pet value and he isn't floating upside down but something is still wrong it seems whenever he eats he begins to float to the top upside down again he seems off balance and swims erratically and I'm worried Hes about a year old and the size of a baseball and the only fish I have in the tank I've tested. The water it seems to be ok however I used the stick test which I'm being told is inaccurate This all started about 3 days ago Can anyone help please???

Hugo is acting very strangely. :/ his water parameters are perfect except the ph being rather high. As usual Susan is fine.

Can a stunted goldfish start growing again?

Question: if a slow growing/possibly stunted goldfish (from petco) is put into a larger tank (55 gal) will it start growing again/faster again? Do I have any hope of seeing my Reggie (fish) get big? He is a black moor, about the size of my pinky finger. Ive had him since November. Grown some but not sure how much

Nematodes

So I was cleaning algae when I bumped my sponge filter, I noticed maybe four or five nematodes swim off of it. I know they aren't parasitical because none of my fish are showing any signs of being harmed. Are regular nematodes are problem at all or should I just leave them alone, im hesitant to just put chemicals in the tank if I don't need to

Started using metroplex to help with SBD potentially caused by parasitic or bacterial infection & now we have white stringy poops. Good or bad? He had a really good day yesterday & wasn’t upside down but is again today☹️

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and to goldfish stewardship. I added some duckweed to my pond a few days ago, since I'd read that it was a healthy snack, and would help to process nitrates in the water. My goldfish won't touch it! In fact, I think they are hiding from it. Should I decrease their pellet food to encourage them to try it? Or scoop it out so it doesn't crowd the surface of the pond? I'm not entirely sure how to proceed, here.

Asymmetrical caudal fins. One side is taller than the other. Is It birth defect? Can it be corrected over time? I got her from an online store.

so ive had my fish for about 2 days, its been acting weird. i got it from the fair after winning it but my fish has been swimming nose down but whenever i touch the tank, it swims away normally. the fish also has trouble staying horizontal. im not sure if its a bladder problem of if its normal, van someone help me with this?
