I have a fish problem, I can't stop buying bettas. Every time I go to get basic supplies, i come home $160 broker and with a new friend. Anyways this is Sploopy and he's fish pal #7. I'm excited to see how he looks once he gets in his new home (he's in my community tank while his cycles).

This is Guppy. I named him that due to his clear fins that make him look like an overgrown guppy from a distance. (Don’t worry, im going to clean my decorations and gravel very soon)

How many others here have an absurd number of bettas? How did you get to have so many? What are your setups like?

Posted: 08 Apr 2021 06:59 AM PDT

I've got 61!

Biggest setups are two 20 longs. Smallest is a 3 gallon (it does hold a cycle well, though I suspect that's because it's very heavily planted). Most of the myco ones are 5 gallon, and most of the normal ones are 10 gallon.

No sororities either.

I have 15 normal ones, and 46 with myco (fish TB) who are being treated with an experimental protocol. A few of those have achieved remission already.

All are very heavily planted. I test with strips daily and liquid kits once a week.

The care is very mechanized almost. I work full time and am able to manage it still. I really enjoy it as it's satisfying to see these devastatingly sick fish come back-the vast majority survive, and this disease is thought to be unsurvivable! Cant wait to have a solid protocol I can share with everyone.

So i put black sand in my tank and i do not think i rinsed it well enough but it’s in there now so any ideas on how to get this water clear before i put my fish back in? is there a water purifier that’ll work or am i just going to have to wait? :(
